The Galkoff`s have been resident in the UK since the late 19th Century when Percy escaped from the Polish Army. He met his bride, Bertha, in Liverpool. They had both lived in nearby villages in Poland. Percy was a butcher which his son Sydney continued until he also retired in 1979.
